Potters Patrick Lujan and Lee Kroll learned their craft at Coyote Clay Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Patrick eventually taught classes there, as well, and placed his pieces in galleries in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, participating in the well-known Weem’s Art Fest 3 years running. Moving to Eureka Springs, Arkansas in early 2007, they opened up their own studio, Out on Main. Concentrating exclusively on hand-building techniques, they specialize in antique textures and primitive firing methods, such as Raku, Horse Hair and Pit Fire, often with strong geometric forms. They sell their work through their own gallery, Out on Main, in Downtown Eureka Springs, alongside that of other local artists/friends, and have shown at White Street Walk, The Fall Arts Show and Pinnacle Hills ArtFest.

Hank Barnes

What a long, strange road it’s been for me! After retiring in 1982 from teaching in a prison, I began working in stained glass, initially studying under Jim Galloway of Galloway Stained Glass Studio in Peoria, Illinois, at which time I constructed the windows for the house my wife and I built in Arkansas. I have always had an appreciation for stained glass and a good eye for color, so I established the business Heirloom Stained Glass Studio in 1987. I attend four to five festivals per year and produce custom work for clients, both locally and nationally, through my website. The distinction of my work is due, in part, to the fact that I, personally, construct every project from conception to completion. I take great satisfaction in creating heirloom pieces that are like welcoming friends when one comes home.

Dan is a graduate of Quincy, IL, BFA, and Univ. of IL, Champaign. MFA. He fulfills many of his days performing home repairs and remodeling, evenings and nights exploring the visual arts. “I enjoy incorporating a number of water based media…but at times I do enjoy using oil pastels and leftover oil based quality products from this…or that, taken from my remodeling work. The only rules I enforce within myself while I’m making art: be creative, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes.”

"I never imagined when I was a little girl making mud pies that I would grow up to be an award-winning artist. What fun! Working with clay is my way of expressing a vision that is characterized by variety and freedom. Art form changes often and sometimes suddenly just as life does. This journey is forever evolving as I walk in the spirit, wherever it takes me, but always inspired by faith. My clay creations are brought to life by multifarious techniques. Whether a piece is thrown, slab constructed or extruded, it will take on a personality with glaze and embellishment. I am associated with two lovely galleries, The Arkansas Studies Institute in Little Rock and Out on Main in Eureka Springs. My pottery is included in the private collections of many wonderful people including Marty and Elise Roenigk and President Bill Clinton. "

Zeek Taylor

Zeek Taylor

Zeek Taylor is known for his stylized watercolors. Using a drybrush technique, he is able to achieve intricate detail not often found in the medium. Work is done on acid free clayboard, a white clay coated masonite panel that has greater strength and longevity than paper. Each piece is surrounded by a meticulously hand-rendered border. He has been described as “a colorist with a keen sense of pattern.” An Arkansas native, he now resides in Eureka Springs, AR. He has been the subject of several one-man shows, and has a fistful of recent art awards.
